UAE Live Jobs publishes practical guides to working in the United Arab Emirates: labour rights, pay, visas, documents, CVs and job applications. This page explains how those guides are researched, checked and kept up to date, so you can judge how far to rely on them.

Where our information comes from

We build every guide on primary, official sources first and use other material only to add context. The sources we rely on most are:

  • Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE): labour law, work permits, contracts, wage protection (WPS) and complaints.
  • Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP): Emirates ID, residency and entry permits.
  • General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA): Dubai visas and residency.
  • The UAE Government portal (u.ae): federal rules, public holidays and official service links.
  • The laws themselves, chiefly Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Labour Relations and its executive regulations.

Where a free zone such as DIFC or ADGM has its own employment law, we say so and point to that authority instead of applying mainland rules.

How a guide is written and checked

  1. Research: we read the official rule or service page and note the exact requirement, fee or time limit, along with the date we checked it.
  2. Write: we explain the rule in plain English, add worked examples where numbers are involved, and say clearly what depends on your contract, emirate or free zone.
  3. Check: before publishing, we compare every figure, deadline and step against the source again.
  4. Date it: every guide shows when it was last updated, so you can see how current it is.

How often guides are reviewed

We review our most-read guides at least every six months, and sooner when MOHRE, ICP or GDRFA announce a change. When a rule changes, we update the guide and its “last updated” date. When a guide can no longer be kept accurate, we take it down rather than leave outdated advice online.

What we don’t do

  • We are not a recruitment agency. We don’t hire, process visas or collect fees from job seekers.
  • We don’t accept payment from employers or agencies to describe them favourably.
  • We don’t publish copied job advertisements or vacancy lists. Our guides explain how to apply through official channels.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads are placed automatically and kept separate from our content. Advertisers have no say in what we write. Our Privacy Policy explains how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.

Report a mistake

If you spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us through our contact page or at info@uaelivejobs.com. Include the page link and, if you can, the official source that shows the correct information. We check every report and correct confirmed errors promptly.

General information, not legal advice

Our guides are general information to help you understand your options. They are not legal advice and can’t cover every contract or situation. For a dispute or a decision with serious consequences, contact MOHRE (call 600 590000 or use the MOHRE app) or a qualified UAE lawyer. See our Disclaimer for more.
